Springing from a background in Dance; my relationship with Yoga began when I was 17, whilst playing with my brother's Nintento Wii Fit - no really, it did!
To cut a long story short - after five years of learning from books, online and squeezing yoga classes in between college and later a fashion design degree, In 2012 I found myself drawn to the source of all things Yoga, India, where I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course at the Himilaya Yoga Valley centre, under the direction of my teacher Lalit Kumar. I learned the traditional Ashtanga and Hatha yoga aswell as chanting, pranayama and meditation. It was truly one of the most inspiring things I have ever done: it not only solidified in me that yoga is the right path I should take, but also that what I really wanted to do was to help others fall in love with the practice in the same way that I have.
Since then I have made annual trips to India to study with R. Sharath Jois at the Sri K. Pattabhi Joi Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, I have been back to The Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre to assist Lalit and his team on teacher trainings, I have studied with Manju Jois and, while here in London, continue to devalop my practice with Hamish Hendry at Ashtanga Yoga London.
I have a strong belief that a yoga is for everyone and class should never be too serious: we should all be willing to laugh at ourselves on and off the mat. After all, it is called yoga practice and not yoga perfection! The amazing thing about yoga is that you'll never stop learning. Whether it's learning your own strength, the vast benefits of a particular asana or something new about yourself. I hope to teach you as much as I've learned so far, but at the same time I hope that you can teach me something new too.
My massage journey started in 2014, when while in Goa, I received the best massage I'd ever experienced from a friend. It was an Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM), it was theraputic, strong yet nurturing and by the end i felt relaxed, invigorated, calm and clear. That friend (and amazing therapist Virium Kaur) told me that there was an AYM training happening soon after, so without hesitation i booked onto the course and completed level one and two under the direction of James Winstanley.
Since completeting the course is have also trained in swedish and deep tissue massage, I have massaged in top hotels and spas in London, I have worked with celebrities and royal families and have had the pleasure of working at exclusive homes and retreat centres all over the world.
